You will note our cupboards already measure 900mm in height without the worktop, when you collect them. This consists of 870mm of cupboard and a 30mm scribe on the bottom. A scribe is a sacrificial piece of wood that can be cut to marry any undulation or slope in your floor, leaving the worktop level. If you have a perfectly level kitchen floor, it isn’t necessary to scribe the cupboards.

It is unwise to cut the cupboards themselves down to less than 870mm in height, as this may cause problems with the height of integrated appliances. It also should be noted that certain appliances are a little higher than standard and this may have a bearing on your worktop height, so make sure you check they will fit before cutting the cupboards down.

We recommend finishing your walls where the Cupboards will go, leaving service tails long for an easy connection during installation. We also recommend laying your finished floor before installing the cupboards, including the area that will receive the cupboards. Wall Cupboards are designed to be fitted with a 500mm gap between the work surface and underside of the cupboards (assuming the work surface is 900mm above the floor) to line up with any Tall Fridge Freezer Housings/Larders that you may have ordered.
