Customers who choose to purchase wooden kitchen worktops and cupboards from British Standard aren’t only buying quality kitchen furniture that will last them a lifetime – they are also joining us in supporting the traditional principles of design and craftsmanship that form an important part of our British heritage.
Here at British Standard we believe passionately in the quality and craft inherent in traditional joinery. Our timeless designs take inspiration from the kitchen furniture of the Georgian period, and every one of our cupboards and kitchen worktops is handmade using traditional construction methods at our workshop in Suffolk.
Wooden Kitchen Worktops
Solid wooden worktops are hard-wearing and bring a distinctive natural beauty to both modern and traditional kitchen designs. At British Standard we manufacture a selection of real wood kitchen worktops designed to complement our range of wooden floor, wall and tall cupboards. These beautiful hardwood worktops are available in a choice of three different hardwoods: our iroko worktops are finished with teak oil, while our sycamore and rustic oak worktops are coated with Danish oil, providing a durable finish. All our worktops are cut to a standard 30 mm thickness, and are available in a variety of lengths and widths.
